All Vale Shears are designed for Heavy-Duty Mill Operation resulting in extremely long service life. Bolted Cap construction allows easy maintenance. Pinch Cut Shears
Pinch cut style shears have two opposing edged blades. When cutting steel rod and bar the blades will penetrate the material only to the point where the rod or bar reaches its shear point resulting in a cut end which looks like this.

Square Cut Shears
Square Cut Shears have special passing blades that cut the rod and bar so that the resulting end looks like this.

Power Units
Although Vale Power Units are rated at 345 BAR continuous duty, they are operated at 310 BAR which provides a wider operating safety margin and extends the service life of the system. For detailed specifications and features please refer to catalog page 140.
When selecting a Power Unit you need to be able to select the system that will achieve the cutting speeds you need. The speed of the cut will be in direct proportion to the flow of hydraulic fluid produced by the power unit. To determine the speed of Vale Shears in relation to various Vale Power Units please refer to catalog page 170.

Tools Carts
The 4-Wheel tool Cart with Boom is ideal for applications where portability of the shearing system is desirable. For detailed specifications and features please refer to catalog page 160.
Balancers
When using larger and heavier shears it is advisable to suspend the
shear from a Balancer which, through spring tension, negates the tool
weight and makes it easy for the operator to manipulate the shear into
cutting positions.

Hose Kits
Vale offers a wide range of hose and cord kits. The high-pressure hydraulic hose connects the power unit to the shear allowing the oil to operate the shear ram. The electric cord connects the shear trigger to the power source operating valve which allows the operator to start and stop the shear with a simple trigger switch.
